KDA LFPA Interest Survey
Are you a supporter of local agriculture or food distribution? If yes, you may be a farmer, aggregator, processor, local food distribution site or even a community organization that supports individuals in need. All have the potential to benefit or make an impact from this grant!

KDA has received over $11 million from the USDA’s Agricultural Marketing Service for the Local Food Purchase Assistance (LFPA) Cooperative Agreement Program. The LFPA program is designed to maintain and improve food and agricultural supply chain resiliency. Through this program, the state’s cooperative agreement with USDA will:
  • support local, regional, and socially disadvantaged producers;
  • assure the purchase of local foods produced within the state, or within 400 miles of the delivery location;
  • purchase a variety of fruits, vegetables, seafood, meat, poultry, eggs, etc. and may be unprocessed or minimally processed;
  • conduct purchases at fair market prices for only high quality, “first-choice” items; and
  • direct all food distributions to low-income and underserved communities of Kentucky.
