A rare disease is defined as a condition that affects fewer than 1 in 2,000 people. There are over 7,000 rare diseases, and many of these are genetic and have no cure. Patients with rare diseases often struggle to get a timely diagnosis, access to treatment and support, and are at a higher risk of disability and premature death.
The Department of Media Studies & IQAC, Christ Nagar College, Trivandrum in association with Focus Games (UK) organise a national webinar on to commemorate World Rare Disease Day as well as a health communication initiative on 28 February 2023 at 6:00 pm.
