The Northwest Tennessee Local Food Network has several volunteer opportunities this Spring/Summer 2026 for individuals and organizations.

Sharon School Garden - 254 Woodland Avenue, Sharon, TN
Sharon School Garden

The Sharon School garden serves as a space to teach children how and where their food comes from. Some of the harvest is used in the school cafeteria. The garden is located behind Sharon School. Parking is ample behind the school.

- Volunteers: Bring gloves and drinking water

- Continuation of phase 2 of the Sharon School Garden Expansion Project in collaboration with the Local Food Network, UTM, and Innov8Africa to build a greenhouse, 2 tiered cake garden beds, and maintain the garden.

- All Volunteers must check into the front office of Sharon School first, before meeting in the garden.

Martin Farmers Market Volunteers Needed
The Martin Farmers Market season kicks-off on Saturday, May 23rd from 8am - 12 noon. We will be open on Wednesdays 12-4pm, and Saturdays, 8-12 noon. We offer kids activities each Saturday. We track customers, offer special events, and give away. 2 harvest baskets collected form vendors each Saturday. 

We are seeking volunteers to support Market activities  on Wednesday afternoons and Saturday mornings starting May 23rd through October 10th.
