Surrendering a Rabbit
DO NOT RELEASE A DOMESTIC RABBIT INTO THE WILD, THEY WILL NOT SURVIVE.

BHRS is a foster-based rescue with foster homes located in Northern Ohio (Fremont, Cleveland, Akron). At this time our foster homes are at or beyond capacity.

If you need to surrender a rabbit that was previously adopted from the Buckeye House Rabbit Society please contact the original foster volunteer or email us at info@ohare.org.

If you need to surrender a rabbit it is recommended you contact your local humane society as they are better suited to handler owner surrenders. Due to the unprecedented numbers of people surrendering their pets, humane societies may have extremely long waitlists. It is recommended that you contact them as soon as possible.

If you would like to rehome your rabbit on your own it is not recommended to use Craigslist, Facebook Marketplace and the like since rabbits are often used for nefarious purposes.

If you are interested in contacting BHRS about a surrender please fill out the form below. A response will be sent if there is availability.
