Prior to the statewide “Stay at Home” order to slow the spread of COVID-19, how frequently did you visit any of our State Historic Sites?
Frequently, at least once a month.

I’ve never visited any of THC’s State Historic Sites
Are you a member of the Friends of the Texas Historical Commission or a Friends group affiliated with a particular State Historic Site?
Our historic sites reopened for visitors on May 1 with enhanced cleaning protocols, requirements for staff and visitors to wear masks or face coverings when indoors, to use hand sanitizer or wash their hands, and to maintain at least 6 feet of distance between anyone not of their household group. What would make you feel safe visiting one of our State Historic Sites again?
No significant changes, I would feel safe and comfortable visiting with things as they were before COVID-19.
The ability to be outdoors.
Knowing the facility’s cleaning and sanitizing procedures.
Knowing that staff and visitors are required to use hand sanitizer and wear face coverings or masks indoors.
Being assured that I will be able to stay at a safe distance from visitors not of my household.
The availability of a vaccine is the only thing that will make me feel safe in public spaces.
What kinds of onsite experiences would you be most interested in? (check all that apply)
There are no onsite programs we would be interested in attending as long as there is no vaccine for COVID-19.
Self-guided tours and programs your household group can enjoy together inside of our historic buildings.
Self-guided tours and programs your household group can enjoy together outdoors at our historic sites.
Indoor guided tours and programs with small groups of others not necessarily of my household.
Outdoor guided tours and programs with small groups of others not necessarily of my household.
Larger events that have a lot of variety and excitement, if some measures are put in place for social distancing and use of masks or face coverings.
I’m interested in any kind of event onsite, no extra precautions needed.
When you invest your time and money to visit a historic site or museum, what type of experience do you value most?
Interacting with knowledgeable staff throughout my visit, including tour guides.
Having great exhibits, brochures, and audio tours available for me to learn from.
Being able to share activities with my companions or family.
Just being able to experience historic spaces on my own terms.
