Telling Stories & Finding Identity with Photography
Monday 10/16/2017, 5:30 - 7:30 PM

Overview: A workshop dedicated to learning the fundamentals of taking photographs and using them for self-empowerment and sharing perspectives. Participants will get the chance to share their voice and tell their own stories using the power of imagery and the freedom of artistic expression. All are welcome and if you’re able, please bring something to take pictures with— a cell phone, camera, anything works!

About me: Jessica Masson is a TAM alum who has completed a number of personal and academic photography projects, including the research and development of a participatory photography project working with the local LGBTQ+ community. Through photography she has found catharsis and empowerment in finding her sense of identity and telling stories. Her goal is to provide the same for others. Everyone has a different perspective and photography helps communicate each one in a poignant, effective way.
