2020 Aya Symposium - Call for Presentations
The Aya Symposium is scheduled for Friday, June 5, 2020 on the campus of Prairie View A&M University in Prairie View, Texas. Call for Presentations are due Friday, March 27, 2020. Selected presenters will be notified by Friday, April 17, 2020.

We have two opportunities for presenters to provide information to educators, historians, and history enthusiasts:

1. 15-minute “Ted Talk” style presentations, or
2. 50-minute workshops.

There are three 15-minute “Ted Talk” style presentations during our morning general session that we are referring to as “History Talks.” These History Talks are meant to provide broad information on specific topics. Symposium attendees will also choose to attend one of four 50-minute concurrent afternoon workshops to go in-depth on a topic. The 2020 Aya Symposium theme Making Us Count: Reclaiming the Texas Freedom Colony Legacies of Activism and Engagement in 2020.
