9th Annual Pig & Punch - Volunteer Sign-up
This year marks the 9 year anniversary of Pig & Punch at Tales of the Cocktail! The Bon Vivants in partnership with Tales of the Cocktail Foundation (TOTCF) and Edrington who has generously agreed to match the all donations raised (!!!), and Imbibe Magazine, are excited to invite you to the 9th Annual Pig & Punch Volunteer Day of Service! We can’t wait to get back to New Orleans for another awesome day of service. Of course, the Pig & Punch party will be held on its normal Sunday July 22nd from 12 - 5 (more details to follow) with pig, punch, and revelry for charity in support of TOTCF’s mission to educate, advance and support the global hospitality industry while creating a lasting impact in host communities.

For those familiar, Pig & Punch Volunteer Day will be held on its traditional Tuesday during Tales of the Cocktail. So please mark your calendar for July 17th!

For those unfamiliar, the week before the event, we gather a group of industry professionals at a KIPP NOLA campus to do some serious volunteer work - painting, building furniture, cleaning, landscaping - they name it, we'll do it! As many of you know, the Sunday party is a kick-ass time, but what some of you may not know is that Pig & Punch doubles as a volunteer effort as well as the Sunday fundraiser. Money we raise through merchandise and contributions at the party is donated to the KIPP charter school in New Orleans. But equally as important is the army of bar professionals that descend on the chosen KIPP campus to perform a work day that would otherwise cost thousands of dollars to execute and certainly wouldn’t happen with the strength and efficiency that our industry applies to the day.

This is the 8th time we have worked with the KIPP Charter School organization in New Orleans and we can't say enough wonderful things about them. Their mission is “to teach their students to develop the character and academic skills necessary to succeed in high school and college, to be self-sufficient, successful, and happy in the competitive world, and to build a better tomorrow for themselves and us all." Since it's inception, Pig & Punch/Swig n' Swine has raised $366,350.44 and volunteered 9,371 hours, with the lions share contributed to KIPP NOLA. This year, we hope to
surpass both the $400,000 and 10,000 hour marks! This year, we are incredibly fortunate to have a partner in Edrington, with their generous offer to match the amount we manage to raise through the event!

We'd like to acknowledge that making it to volunteer day might mean another night or two of lodging, another night away from work, a longer trip to New Orleans, etc. Not a single ounce of that effort is lost upon us or KIPP New Orleans, and on behalf of KIPP, we thank you in advance for continuing to make this special day a priority.

As we get closer to the date of the volunteer day and once we have the full list of people coming out, we will send more details with timing, location, transportation, attire, etc. It is important that you fill out the Google Form to RSVP only if you plan to attend (not just because it sounds like something you'd like to do) as we will need an accurate headcount for lunch, transportation, etc.
