T&Y Market is looking to expand their PRODUCE TEAM!
Please read all the following responsibilities listed below before applying. We are looking for industrious, devoted, and efficient produce clerks with excellent customer service, strong work ethics, and team skills for full time and part time positions.
Applicant should be responsible, committed to excellent service, and attentive to customer and team needs.
To succeed in this position, you should aim to have a high level of accuracy, a keen sense of awareness, and a mission-driven mindset.
PRODUCE CLERK Responsibilities:
- Inspect produce freshness, repeat daily rotations, and restock to ensure quality.
- Careful handling during packaging and restock to prevent bruising or damage.
- Maintain proper storage conditions for produce and package materials.
- Label produce items with correct PLU codes and accurate pricing.
- Keep track of inventory flow for re-ordering and anticipated market activity.
- Memorize various produce names, storage, and salesfloor locations.
- Accurate in-take of inventory list from produce & local farmer vendors.
- Keep produce and store displays full, attractive, and properly rotated.
PRODUCE CLERK Courtesy Responsibilities:
- Greet and assist all customers who come in the produce section.
- Maintain a positive and energetic attitude when helping customers.
- Inform customers about new promotions and seasonal items.
- Assist customers with produce-related questions and recommendations.
- Proactively offer help in selecting, weighing, and bagging produce.
- Provide general information for produce origins, ripeness, proper storage, etc.
PRODUCE CLERK Overall Store Responsibilities:
- Cultural awareness to foods, products, and languages.
- Maintain a clean, hygienic, and decluttered workspace.
- Ability to stand, walk, lift heavy items, & be multifaceted in various services.
- Work with team in a fast-paced environment for excellent services.
- Follow all store procedures and prioritize management requests.
- Be able to ask management for direction to increase store work flow.
- Dependable and reliable transportation with punctual arrival for shifts.
