Mushroom Logs
Are you interested in inoculating mushroom logs to grow your own shitaki mushrooms in your backyard?
We will be hosting a HANDS-UP workshop inoculating logs on Saturday February 22/ at 12pm? 2 hour workshop at Wind River. Recipes and health benefits of mushrooms offered too!

KIDS: And the actual mushroom inoculating is an adult activity (power tools and hot wax!), but kids are absolutely welcome! They always enjoy running around the property, and we will have a bon fire, corn hole and hot choco!

MORE DETAILS: It is a multistep process of drilling holes, plugging in mushroom spores into the holes and sealing the holes with wax. We will have a kind of assembly line, at take turns (moving the logs is the hardest part but at least Dave and David Dahl have already cut down the trees into 2-3 foot logs!!! Folks will be able to take home at least one log per household, (more depending on how many show up).
