Pilgrim Terrace (Main Gathering Room)649 Pilgrim Terrace Drive, Santa Barbara, CA 93101
"Breaking into the world of contemporary art isn’t for the faint of heart; it requires both talent and hustle. You must think creatively and outside of the box, meanwhile staying proactive and professional to persevere in this competitive industry. Getting your work seen and sold goes beyond the gallery model. Pursuing a future in the art world from an amateur artist to the prestige of a professional is a daunting process that necessitates organizational skills, a head for business, marketing savvy, and a passion for the process.
In this BizArts Workshop, the world of contemporary art will be contextualized through the perspectives and roles of several local arts professionals including Julia Rutherford Daly (Curator for the Santa Barbara County Office of Arts and Culture), Tom Pazderka (painter, installation artist and writer), and Matt Henriksen (co-founder and director of The Basic Premise Gallery in Ojai). Learn some of the tips from the professionals currently active in the world of contemporary art and start navigating your own path today."
There is a suggested workshop donation of $20, but any amount is appreciated. We do ask that you pre-register below prior to the BizArts Workshop that you plan on attending. Thank you so much!
