The recent 'Groot Rotterdams Atelier Weekend' generated many positive reactions, but it also made clear that there is still a lot of room for improvement. Artists have no rights when they are renting anti-squat (anti-kraak) and the waiting list at SKAR is only getting longer.
An article about this issue has recently appeared in the AD and as a result a letter has been written by the chairmen of PvdA and D66 to the mayor and aldermen.
In order to furnish this discussion with clear facts and figures, artists in collaboration with CBK Rotterdam and SKAR, have drawn up a questionnaire to make an inventory of the studio situation in the city and the need for work space.
In their policy vision, the municipality states that artists are important to the city. But what actions will Rotterdam take to make this a reality?
Fill in the survey so your data can help us convince politicians that there should be a better municipal policy for studio spaces.
