Minneapolis Edible Boulevards Application
Introduction: Hello there! We are a Minneapolis Green Zones' initiative devoted to improving access to fresh produce for our neighbors. Minneapolis Edible Boulevards offers resources (soil testing, seeds/seedlings, compost, and a pair of gardening gloves and a trowel for those who need them) and teaches community members how to create and grow gardens in between the sidewalk and curb in front of their home, business, or community site. We are currently doing this in the Southside Green Zone neighborhoods of Cedar Riverside, Ventura Village, and the Phillips' neighborhoods, in addition to Longfellow and Powderhorn Park. We are also in the Northside Green Zone neighborhoods of Hawthorne, Near North, McKinley, Bottineau, Sheridan, Marshall Terrace, and St. Anthony West, in addition to Jordan, Webber-Camden and Willard Hay. And we teach free cooking classes, so keep an eye out for those on our social media pages!
