AHW Putting It Into Action - Weeks 5&6
Choose one of the following activities to apply what you learned about your health and your healthy goal setting. Write a short paragraph (3 to 5 sentences) to describe what you did and learned from the activity selected. Report your Putting It Into Action results by email, fax or hard copy to your county Extension Office. Each team member who completes this by the deadline (February 20th) will earn 25 bonus points for the team.

Option 1: Combine mindful eating with portion control. Serve yourself half the amount you usually eat at dinner tonight. Take 20 minutes to eat slowly and thoughtfully. Were you are satisfied with this smaller portion?
Option 2: Try using the Hunger Scale with each of your meals for a day. Writing down the number when you started and the number when you stopped may help you to relearn the hunger cues we often lose throughout life.
Option 3: List one short-term goal for the coming week specific to mindful eating or portion control. What will you do to achieve this goal? List a reinforcement or reward you will receive when you achieve your goal. Identify any challenges you will face, and determine strategies to overcome them.
