Application for the Exponential Festival 2023
The Exponential Festival will return for its 8th season in 2023. We are accepting applications from performing artists and theatre-makers whose work pushes boundaries, crosses corners, can be considered experimental, innovative, or just plain weird. We are looking for applicants that want to premiere new works, vitally change or reimagine original shows by remounting them, or otherwise radically reinterpret forms, processes, or practices. 

For Exponential 2023, we are prioritizing shows with small creative teams (1 - 5 people) in order to better adapt to the evolving live performance + pandemic environment.

All performances will take place in January 2023, in Brooklyn venues and online on our YouTube channel. This application closes July 1.

Exponential Festival connects performing artists with venues in Brooklyn based on their production's needs. For our 2023 season, Exponential Festival will include live performances with in-person audiences and virtual premieres on our YouTube channel. Choose from the options below any that apply to your application. If you choose multiple answers, indicate your first and second preference in the "other" answer. *

Please list the minimum and maximum number of performances you are interested in doing, and indicate any date or timing restrictions. (Note: The Exponential Festival 2023 will take place in January, and all performances are in Brooklyn or online.) *
Provide links to your previous work. All materials should be online. Video is highly preferred, along with photos and a CV with names and venues of past productions. *
Provide two references who are familiar with your performance or artistic work. Exponential will reach out to them after applications close during the first two weeks of July. *
Your familiarity with our participating venues will help us with your application. Please indicate which of our participating venues you have have attended (non-Exponential Festival performances included). *
