⚠️No Longer Operating ⚠️Request for Mutual Aid - Dane County Community Defense (DCCD)
⚠️DCCD has moved out of our warehouse and closed our form. While we are not able to continue providing direct aid to the community, we are working on creating a list of resources to point people to, and we are proud of the solidarity created by everyone involved.⚠️

Thousands of people throughout Dane County are concerned about making ends meet and keeping their families healthy during this crisis. When the news made clear how COVID-19 and mass quarantine was going to impact our community, the Madison IWW General Defense Comittee (GDC) mobilized volunteers and offered support to all, and the Social Justice Center stepped up to help the effort. Hundreds of people stepped up to prepare food, deliver supplies, offer emotional support, answer medical questions, help others navigate unemployment and bureaucratic agencies, connect with people making requests, and dispatch direct financial support to the community. This came at a time when existing resource agencies and non-profits were still figuring out how to respond to the pandemic. This grassroots effort was 100% volunteer run and funded by the community, and filled a gap in our systems with mutual aid, community solidarity, and direct support at heart.
