KNZ NATIONAL TRAINING CAMP - JANUARY 2021
The first camp for the 2021 season is being held in Auckland on Saturday 30th and Sunday 31st January. The venue for the camp is the Barfoot & Thompson Netball Centre (Netball North Harbour), 44 Northcote Road, Northcote, Auckland 0627.
Times for the camp:
Saturday 30th January - Registration from 8:15 am; Start at 9:00 am; Finish at 5:00 pm.
Sunday 31st January - Start at 8:30 am; Finish at 4:30 pm.
This KNZ National Training Camp is open to all Karate students aged from 8 years of age. All those players wishing to be part of the NZ team to Oceania in New Caledonia and/ or WKF Senior Worlds in Dubai (both scheduled for 2021) must attend this camp, and you are expected to attend both days.
Students will need to bring:
• all Karate equipment used for tournaments
• lunch, snacks and water/ drink for both days
• running shoes/ shorts for fitness testing
• spare gi pants and a t-shirt/ polo, along with lots of energy
• pen & notebook
• for those junior-aged and older, 16 years plus, looking at representing NZ in 2021 bring your training diary (as per KNZCC2 - Karate New Zealand Athlete Selection Policy *).
Important to Remember: National Camp attendance for cadets age (14-15 years) and older is a pre-requisite for selecting competitors trialling for the National Team. To be a National Team member, players must be a registered KNZ player.
NB: IF YOU HAVE PREVIOUSLY BEEN SELECTED FOR A KNZ NATIONAL TEAM AND YOU ARE UNABLE TO ATTEND THE JANUARY NATIONAL TRAINING CAMP, but you wish to be considered for future selection; you must fill in Sections 1 & 2 of this form and send an email to the KNZ Coaching Council via
to explain why you are not able to attend. This email is the player requesting dispensation.
The cost of this KNZ National Training Camp is included in Section 3.
