Janine Mateparae is a Certified Havening Techniques Practitioner having been trained and certified by the US-based Centre for Havening research and Training Inc. She is not a licensed physician.

Based on the fields of neuroscience and neurobiology the Havening Techniques are considered a complementary psycho-sensory technique and a ‘safe talk and safe touch’ modality. The extent of its effectiveness, as well as its risks and benefits, are not yet known as it has yet to be fully researched by Western academic, medical and psychological communities. Although Havening is yet to be validated, the Techniques appear to have promising emotional, mental and physical health benefits.

Ideas and insights offered during a Havening session are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease or illness. Havening is not considered to be a substitute for standard medical, psychological or psychiatric treatment or professional counselling. If I have been requested to seek consent from my doctor, I will do so before commencing Havening.

I understand that possible benefits include an enhanced sense of well being, resilience and inner growth and relief from anxiety and pain. Although there are no known harmful effects from using this technique, I do not hold Janine Mateparae responsible for any effects that may cause me temporary physical or emotional discomfort. Further, I understand that negative emotions and feelings may rise-up during the course of our sessions and if this becomes too uncomfortable I will seek further professional medical advice.
