Private Music Tuition at St Scholastica's College - Registration form 2017


• Please register before Monday 9th January 2017 to guarantee selection into the program.

•The College offers voice, piano and most of the orchestral/band instrument tuition. A list of available instruments can be found on the second page of this registration form.

• All students enrolled in the College's instrumental tuition program are required join at least one music ensemble at school.

• Students will be allocated a tutor and ensemble at the start of Term 1, 2017.

• Tutors will ring or email to arrange lesson times within the first two weeks of Term 1, 2017.

    Fees

    • Individual Tuition: $39 per 30 minute lesson • Tutors will bill parents/guardians directly each term and fees are payable in advance. Invoice are usually due by week 2 of each term and lessons may be suspended if the balance is not paid.

    Lessons

    • Most lessons take place during school hours on a rotational basis so that students do not miss out on the same classes, unless otherwise specified by the tutor. Students may request having lessons during Recess or Lunch, however, the senior students will have the priority for those time slots. • Students may undertake A.M.E.B or Trinity College London exams at the tutor’s discretion. • Lockers will be provided for students to store their instruments whilst at school. Students need to contact Ms Cindy Miao for locker allocations.

    Termination of lessons

    All students are expected to learn their instrument for a minimum of one semester (two terms) Notification of termination must be done in advance (at least 1 month prior), in writing, addressed to Ms Cindy Miao (cmiao@scholastica.nsw.edu.au).

    Timetable

    • The tutor will advise students of their lesson times via email &/or phone. • A timetable is given to each student at the start of the term, and a copy is also displayed outside the tutor’s studio. • It is the students’ & parents’ responsibility to check the timetable at the beginning of each term/week to confirm lesson times. • If a student is absent due to illness, parents are required to notify the tutor before 7.30am of the school day. • If a student will be absent due to an excursion, exam or other event, 48 hours notice must be given by a parent. Failure to do so will result in the lesson being forfeited.

    Absences

    Practice

    • Students should practise daily to gain the maximum benefit from their lessons. • Please discuss with the tutor how much practice is required. • The school monitors the progress of each student and a report is written at the end of each year.

    Compulsary Ensemble Commitment

    • All students enrolled in the school’s instrumental tuition program are required join at least one music ensemble at school. • This is to enhance student’s performance and musician skills whilst learning an instrument. • The instrumental tutor will suggest the Music Ensemble that the student could participate at her level. • See more details from the Music Ensemble form. http://bit.ly/1gMFbk0
