End of Class - AP CSP 17-18
Feedback from students after completing a year of AP CSP
Content: Explore - how well do you feel you understood what was needed to complete the explore task? Should we have reviewed more, less - areas that could be better explained?
Content : Create - how well prepared do you feel you were to complete the create task? Should we have completed a full practice first rather than in sections? Thoughts?
Programming - we used C, Python MIT App Inventor, Pygame and Raspberry Pi - do you think we should keep all of these for next year? What else should we include?
CS: General - how useful/new did you find the information covered in some of the non-programming sections of CS? (file compression, Internet Architecture, RGB color, number systems, encryption, etc) - suggestions for topics to add or expand upon?
Grading: We were pretty free-form this year - well, in all honesty, that was my choice - most of the time I grade on effort. Suggestions for changes to this method? What would you prefer as a student?
Instructor: I know that my teaching method can be considered relaxed. Does this work for a class like this, or are there some changes you would like to see from me if you were taking a class like this again? Do you think I should give more homework and exam grades?
Exam Prep: We used a variety of methods to review (index cards, python quiz, exam questions, online sites, kahoot) - which were most useful and what else could we have done to be better prepared?
