Machynlleth Comedy Festival 2018 Green Team Application Form
We are recruiting our first Green Team to help make the festival more environmentally friendly and lower our energy use and carbon output.

If you are interested in green issues, want to make positive change, enjoy talking to people and working as part of a fun team, this is the role for you! As a Green Team volunteer you will assist the Sustainability Officer in carrying out travel surveys, monitoring energy use and supervising the waste systems in the festival areas. The more eccentric your green costume, the better!

Volunteers receive a crew wristband which entitles them to a camping pitch on our campsite, crew breakfast from Friday 4th to Monday 7th May, and, when you're off-duty, free entry to any shows with spare capacity.

You will typically be allocated 3 shifts of around 4-5 hours, one per day on Friday, Saturday and Sunday as well as all hands on deck on Monday morning to pack down and take final energy readings. Please note the majority of your shifts will be outdoors.

Some important dates for the diary!

In partnership with the Centre for Alternative Technology (CAT), we are offering 3 Green Team volunteers a free place on the Zero Carbon Britain course at CAT just before the festival on Wednesday 2nd and Thursday 3rd May. The course explores the possibilities and existing projects in rapid decarbonisation of our societies in four key sectors - energy, food, buildings and transport in the context of economics, politics, psychology and values. For more detail about the course, visit Food will be provided. Participants will need to pay for their own accommodation. To enter the prize draw, tick the box in the form below.

Application deadline is Sunday 15th April.
All answers will be treated with the strictest confidence and only shared within the management team.

Please note, this application is recruiting for a separate team to the general volunteer application and doing both would be exhausting!

Volunteers must be aged 18 or over at the time of the festival.

If you have any questions please email, and we thank you for taking the time to apply and offering your skills, time and experience to us.
