DOPE Underrepresented Student Scholars Award Pilot Program
The 2020 DOPE Conference Organizers are piloting an Underrepresented Student Scholars Award Program. This award program will reimburse registration and field trip costs for junior scholars presenting at DOPE. We encourage underrepresented junior scholars—defined as undergraduates and graduate scholars who are persons of color, LGBTQ/queer, first generation scholars, international students, or are studying at less represented institutions including HBCUs, tribal colleges, and community colleges—to apply for these awards. Registration and field trip costs will be reimbursed after applicants are selected; we anticipate decisions to be made in early January 2020.

After the conference, we will require each awardee to write a brief 100-word statement about the importance of DOPE to the development of their scholarly career and take a short survey to secure future funding for this initiative.

Applicants should complete the form by December 5, 2019.
