Every year, suicide claims more than 720,000 lives worldwide—each one leaving behind a ripple of grief that deeply touches families, friends, workplaces, and communities.
This year’s triennial theme (2024–2026), “Changing the Narrative on Suicide,” is a call to action:
🌱 To challenge harmful myths and reduce stigma
💬 To open up conversations with empathy and compassion
🤝 To create safe spaces where people feel supported to seek help
📢 To push for systemic change and stronger mental health policies
Together, we believe suicide is preventable—and every small step toward awareness, understanding, and kindness can save a life.

🕊 Morning Program: Suicide Prevention Rally

Organized by Patan Mental Hospital, this rally unites us in solidarity to raise awareness, break stigma, and walk together for suicide prevention.

🎤 Speaker:Dr. Kushal Kharel is a psychiatry 3rd-year resident doctor working in the Department of Psychiatry at KIST Medical College & Teaching Hospital

Dr. Kharel will lead an insightful session on suicide awareness, fostering meaningful discussions around mental health, prevention strategies, and ways we can collectively contribute to changing the narrative on suicide.
