All trainings can be delivered in-person, anywhere within the state of Texas. Please note that trainings outside of the Austin-area will need to be scheduled at least 2-3 weeks in advance. Virtual training is also available. Trainings are delivered by Lily Hughes, LMSW, Capacity Building Manager at THRA.
Our training types are as follows:
Opioid Overdose Reversal & Response (1 hour) - by the end of the session, attendees will understand the opioid overdose crisis, be able to identify prevention and risk factors for
an opioid overdose, learn to recognize signs and symptoms of an opioid
overdose, and describe how to respond to an opioid
overdose with naloxone.
Roads to Recovery: Evidence-Based Practices for Substance Use Disorders (2 hours) - by the end of the session, attendees will be able to describe
emerging trends in opioid use disorder (OUD) and stimulant use disorder (StUD) in
Texas, apply
an all-pathways framework to conceptualizing recovery, discuss
evidence-based treatment approaches for substance use disorder (SUD), and develop
person-centered practices to use with clients.
Housing as Healing in Substance Use Care (1.5 - 2 hours) - by the end of the session, attendees will be able to describe
the co-occurrence of substance use and housing instability, identify
housing barriers and protections for this population, examine
evidence-based housing models, and discuss
practices that promote positive behavioral change in housing and substance use
services.
