BBA CODE OF CONDUCT It is the purpose and intent of the Bryan Little League to create and offer quality learning and baseball playing opportunities. The following code of conduct agreement is constructed as an instrument to emphasize those values, principles, and beliefs, which are central to the foundation, structure, and operation of the Bryan Baseball Program. I hereby agree: • At no time during the course of an event will I confront a coach for any reason. • At no time during the course of an event will I use profanity/lewd gestures or misuse/damage any equipment/facility. • At no time during the course of an event will I be involved in an abusive verbal or physical confrontation with another coach, parent official or participant. • That some players may have more plate appearances, playing time, positions/roles, and starting assignments, than other players • At no time during an event will I indulge in the use of tobacco, alcohol or drugs, or appear at an event under the influence of alcohol or drugs. • To respect all officials and their authority during games and never question, discuss, or confront coaches at the game field, and only speak with coaches at an agreed upon time and place. • To be a positive role model for my child and encourage sportsmanship by showing respect and courtesy, and by demonstrating positive support for all players, coaches, officials and spectators at every game, practice or event. • To not encourage any behaviors or practices that would endanger the health and well being of the athletes. • To demand that my child treat other players, coaches, officials and spectators with respect regardless of race, creed, color, sex or ability, and teach my child to resolve conflicts without resorting to hostility or violence. • To learn the rules of the game and the league, and teach my child to play by these rules. • To refrain from coaching my child or other players during games and practices unless I am one of the official coaches of the team or have been asked to assist by an official coach of the team. • To emphasize skill development and practices and how they benefit my child over winning. I will also de-emphasize games and competition in the lower age groups. • To leave each dugout and each seating area in better shape than we found them • To participate FULLY in the any Fundraiser as set forth by the BBA. • That all medical, financial, and legal liability issues, activities, and consequences are the exclusive responsibility and domain of the player and/or his respective family, parent(s), and/or guardian(s)... at no time will the Bryan Little League, nor any of its associated personnel (manager, coaches, board of directors, et al.) be sued legally (individually, collectively, or organizationally) in any manner, for any expenses, damages (perceived or real, intentional or unintentional), losses, injuries, complaints/problems, complications, and/or inconveniences which may result from participation with the team activities and/or team initiatives. We agree to release and forever hold harmless said team and related personnel in all matters, legal, medical, personal, financial, and/or otherwise. No claims shall be made for any reason. *
