Bloomingdale Trail Viaduct Clean Up
The Friends of the Bloomingdale Trail group is joining in on the Earth Day celebrations by organizing a clean up event of its own on April 22nd from 9 am - 12 pm. The days efforts will be to clean up the viaducts below the trail which don't receive the same amount of attention the top of the trail does. We'd love your help giving the underside of the trail some much needed TLC and if you are interested in volunteering please complete the form below.

Details are as follows: 2 groups of volunteers will meet at the East & West ends of the trail between 8:30 & 9 am. Each group will walk along the trail to each viaduct and pick up trash below and at the entrance to the trail. Volunteers will be provided donuts, coffee & water before starting as well as trash bags and disposable gloves. Water will be provided throughout the clean up itself. Both groups will conclude at California and for those interested in celebrating a job well done, can travel to a local watering hole for some adult beverages. The Chicago Park District will be supplying extra trash cans at trail ramps. Volunteers will also be reporting areas that have graffiti, large trash items that cannot be picked up, or items that have specialized disposal needs, like tires. Final details about the effort will be provided to volunteers the day prior.
