Gloucester Fishtown Horribles Parade Registration
When: Wednesday July 3, 2024
Step off time: 6 p.m. from Gloucester High School, 32 Leslie O. Johnson Road

Arrival/set up/parking: We recommend arriving early and as close to 4pm as possible. Due to traffic, limited space for parking and road closures we require those who intend on being in the parade to arrive early and carpool to the High School parking lot.  You may drop off people to be in the parade, but we must limit the amount of cars parking in the lot to only those who will be driving in the parade. Stay tuned for more parking updates as we get closer to the parade day.

Grand Prize Float that best represents the theme will win a prize!!
There will be a prize for Best Horrible as well!!

The parade will follow its traditional route out Centennial Avenue, left on Western Avenue to Washington Street at Tally’s Corner, right down Washington and left onto Rogers Street, left on Manuel F. Lewis Street, then a left up Main Street and a right up Pleasant Street to Prospect Street, the left on Prospect, right on Railroad Avenue and a right onto Washington Street, finishing with a left onto Centennial Avenue back to Gloucester High School.

The following rules are strictly enforced for the enjoyment and safety for all:

1) NO items are to be THROWN, SHOT, SPRAYED OR
HANDED from the float. Any item intended to be given out are to be handed out from walkers associated with your float. 
2) Under NO circumstance shall any device be used to spray or deliver any type of solid material into the crowds. Spraying of water into the air is okay but should not be sprayed directly into the crowds.
3) Floats are not allowed to sell anything, solicit donations or collect donations along the route.
4) Drugs and Alcohol are strictly prohibited.
5) No more than two (2) vehicles per "float".
6) All floats are required to have spotters walking alongside the float visible to the driver. It is the spotter's
job to prevent spectators from approaching the float and to inform the driver when it is clear to proceed
from a stop.
7) It is the float sponsors’ responsibility to ensure that the driver of the float is properly licensed and insured.
The driver agrees to maintain a 40 foot space between parade floats, keeping an eye on spotters before proceeding from a stop. Maintaining the 40 foot distance ensures a smooth and uninterrupted parade.
8) No burnouts, wheelies, or other dangerous maneuvers allowed.
9) Float lineup is based on a first come first served method and will be sent out as coordinated by the Parade committee.
10) All floats must be decorated in some way.  The majority of decorating of the float must happen prior to your arrival at the High School. All decorations and signage must be family friendly. The Fishtown Horribles Parade Committee reserves the right to remove anything that does not fall within these guidelines.
11) Snaps, fireworks and pyrotechnics are strictly prohibited and illegal in Gloucester and Massachusetts. 
 12) All participants whose car will not be in the parade must carpool in the vehicle that will be in the parade or be dropped off as the High School parking lot will be utilized as the staging area for the parade. Only vehicles that are driving in the parade will be allowed entry. 

The parade committee will not be held responsible for any accidents or injuries occurring as a result of this float participating in the Gloucester Fishtown Horribles Parade.
