2017-18 Teen Arts Council Application
Want to become part of an exciting group of teen leaders interested in art and museums? Apply for the NCMA’s Teen Arts Council (TAC)! You’ll see behind the scenes at the Museum, design and facilitate programming for your peers, and create a welcoming and comfortable environment for teens across the state.

WHAT DO WE DO ?
• Develop leadership, public speaking, and visual literacy skills by planning, promoting, and facilitating art activities and gallery experiences for teen audiences in the Museum.

• Share inspiration and dialogue with your peers through on-site and virtual meetups with groups of like-minded teens in North Carolina and beyond.

• Create art and participate in experimental gallery activities with other TAC members and teen ambassadors.

• Go behind the scenes and learn about careers in art museums.

The Teen Arts Council (TAC) meets the first Tuesday, from 4 to 6 pm, beginning in September. There are two additional meetings on Saturday per semester. TAC members are expected to attend all meetings, participate in ArtScene (Saturday, April 28, 2018), attend a summer kickoff party, volunteer at one Museum event each semester, and do a small amount of follow-up online between meetings.

The deadline to submit this online application is June 9, 2017. We will invite selected applicants for a short interview with Museum staff and current TAC members. We will notify all candidates about acceptance in early July.

Please contact Harriet Hoover, Coordinator of Teen and College Programs: harriet.hoover@ncdcr.gov or (919) 664-6779. For more information about teen programs at the NCMA, visit ncartmuseum.org/teens.
