The ability to install systems in 2017 (to lock in grandfathered net metering for Duke customers) has been reached, but the Solarize 2 program will continue throughout 2018 for those still wanting net metering through 2032 (with net metering for 15 years). We are currently working with additional installers to satisfy the needs of participants who completed the application process before the August 2017 deadline. You can still do a Solar project with discounted, Solarize pricing, and a simplified process through this program with an installation in 2018. Some terms and conditions will be different because of changes to Indiana’s net metering law and because broader market conditions are changing.
If there is sufficient interest, SIREN will organize additional Info Sessions (attendance is a program requirement) for people interested in 2018 installations, and will notify you of when and where they will be held. Please register below to receive those notifications.
Background: The City of Bloomington’s Solarize Phase 1 helped almost 100 homeowners Go Solar and put over 1,000 kW (that’s an actual Mega Watt!) of new solar on residences and City buildings this year, with SIREN’s assistance. That almost doubled the amount of solar in Bloomington and Monroe County!Phase 2 expands the program boundaries to include homeowners, businesses, and other property owners in the surrounding counties - Greene, Lawrence, Morgan, Orange and Owen - as well as residents of Bloomington and Monroe County. Participation is open to both Duke Energy and REMC customers. For more details on the program, please visit:https://bloomington.in.gov/sustainability/solarizeorhttps://www.sirensolar.org NOTE: If you do not use email, enter "email@example.com" below, and be sure to provide a phone number for reaching you!
