The Texas Orator Writer Application
Hi! Thank you for your interest in The Texas Orator! We are a nonpartisan peer-reviewed political publication looking to expand our membership. We have two options for interested writers.

Guest writers are required to come to some meetings and must write once or more during the semester.

Staff writers are held to a much more rigid writing schedule and receive more privileges (such as editorial responsibilities) during the semester. We ask staff writers to write 4-5 articles per semester. They also must attend weekly meetings. Exceptions are handled on a case by case basis. In the spring, staff writers will be evaluated for promotion.

The most important attribute of The Texas Orator is our team's absolute commitment to thoughtful and provocative analysis. We are looking for members who love politics and political philosophy, but who, above all, desire to nurture an open-minded community of thinkers. Desirable applicants seek first to understand, and then to be understood. We want individuals who are passionate not about convincing others of their views, but about transforming and reshaping themselves and their own perspectives each day.

Thank you! We look forward to reading your application.
