The first is the “Clean Energy Jobs Act,” which would put Maryland on the path to 100% clean energy. It would expand the state’s renewable electricity requirement to 50% by 2030, then map out the best path for Maryland to reach 100% renewable power by 2040. It would also end incentives for trash incineration, the largest source of pollution in Baltimore City. A supermajority of legislators are on record supporting this key clean energy bill. It’s now time for them to act on those promises and get this bill over the finish line.
The second bill is called the “Pipeline and Water Protection Act,” which would close the pipeline loophole and put tough requirements on new fracked-gas pipelines in the state.
We need to tell our legislators that these essential climate bills are important to us, and there's no better way than to do it in person. Join us!
