Cascade Info
Cascade is an educational enrichment program offered by Splash! Chicago offering university students and alumni an opportunity to develop and teach classes on subjects that they are passionate about to local Chicago high school students. Cascade is longer than other Splash! Programs as it takes place once a week over the course of five weeks. Because it is a longer program, Cascade requires a significant time commitment - including general preparation, teacher training sessions, a weekly one-hour class 5th through 9th week, and three check-in meetings with your assigned point of contact during the program. The overarching aim of Cascade is to provide a guided environment for teachers to develop classes that will instill an enthusiasm for learning in their students.
Teacher Training
We require teachers to attend 1 teacher training session, with the option of attending more for additional questions regarding their particular class. These sessions will allow you and your fellow teachers to fine-tune your teaching abilities to make your five weeks the best they can be.
