CDHE and the OER Council are offering a state-wide Pressbooks network for any Colorado higher education institution, both public and private, to publish Open textbooks through the Pressbooks platform. Pressbooks is a publishing platform widely used by the open education community to adapt, create, and publish open educational resources. Individual authors and institutional projects interested in publishing on the Colorado Pressbooks Network should complete this application. The Colorado OER Council will review and award Pressbooks licenses on a rolling basis through 2024.
The Colorado Pressbooks Network aims to publish OER created or significantly adapted by Colorado educators to benefit Colorado students. Through this network, Colorado is providing the author/institution with the ability to create and publish on the Pressbooks platform and will distribute up to 45 book licenses to institutions across the state. This service does not provide compensation for the time to write or create OER, although educators and institutions are invited to submit an OER grant proposal in Fall 2024 that may include such funding.
