The ME2WE Scholarship Fund was founded in 2020 with inspiration from an amazing woman—Margaret Ellavsky (ME). Margaret lived her life with passion, love, and generosity. She helped make her community a better place to live, and she would be pleased knowing her legacy continues to help deserving young people today.
The concept of ME2WE is based on the notion of moving from a "ME" centered life to a "WE" centered life (focused on the idea of community, however you define it). On behalf of Margaret’s legacy, CASA Neighborhoods (Community Action, Service & Advocacy) is dedicated to supporting students who have made a positive impact in their community and are looking to continue their education post-high school.
Eligibility for this scholarship requires applicants to reside within the United States and be either a high school senior, in post-secondary education (college, trade school, etc.), or applying for post-secondary education. Additionally, applicants will need to complete an essay question, not to exceed 500 words.
The application deadline is May 23, 2025. A total of $5,000 will be awarded in various amounts, depending on the number of applicants selected. Applicants will be notified by June 6, 2025. On the evening of June 18, 2025, CASA will hold an award reception for those selected and their families at the agency in La Mesa, CA.
