Pack 62 Picnic / Overnight at Hyland Lake Park Reserve

The Pack 62 Picnic is Friday, May 30 at the Sumac Knoll group campsite at Hyland Lake Park Reserve in Bloomington. The Sumac Knoll campsite has a separate entrance that is 0.4 miles south of the main park entrance (9900 Bush Lake Rd, Bloomington).

All family members are invited, and food will be provided by the pack. Families may stay just for supper, or they can pitch a tent and stay overnight. The schedule for the evening is:

5:00 p.m. - free time / games / set up tents if staying overnight
6:00 p.m. - supper
7:00 p.m. - hike to Chutes and Ladders play area 0.4 miles from campsite or group games in campsite
8:00 p.m. - campfire and marshmallows, and smores / skits / free time
10:00 p.m. - retire to tents for evening
10:30 p.m. - lights out and quiet time

8:00 a.m. - Pancake breakfast
9:00 a.m. - Paper rockets activity or nature hike
11:00 a.m. - Leave campsite

Scouts are encouraged to bring a fire fork or stick to roast marshmallows. We will have some roasting sticks available, and pocket knives for carving sticks are allowed at this event provided that Scouts:
-have parent permission to bring a pocket knife
-are supervised by an adult
-have taken the "whittling chip" safety training (Bear Cubs and older)
-are carrying the "whittling chip" card

Please RSVP so we can plan for meals. Families staying overnight are encouraged to bring their own tents, but we will have extra tents available if you don't own a tent. All attendees staying overnight (youth and adult) must complete and bring the following BSA medical form:

Packing list for those staying overnight:
-camp chair
-sleeping bag
-flashlight or headlamp
-water bottle
-tent (we have some available)
-completed health form
-Suncreen/ Insect repellent
-balls / frisbees / outdoor games
