Calvary Church Membership Application for Primary Applicant
Welcome to Calvary!  We are a come-as-you-are Church who believe that Jesus is the Key to understanding life, relationships and knowing God.  We want to be a place where people experience God and find the insights, strength and friendships they need to live an eternally-significant life. We were founded in 1908 and have strong ties to 1300+ Baptist churches throughout America who are helping people meet, know and follow Jesus Christ. We are also very excited and proud about being 1 family with 2 services for English and Spanish-speaking people.

Our Mission is to glorify God by winning people, mending people, building people and sending people!

Our Goal is to make mature disciples who love God and love others more like Jesus!

Our Beliefs

THE BIBLE: The Bible is the Word of God, fully inspired and without error in the original manuscripts, written under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit.  It has supreme authority in all matters of faith and conduct.

THE TRINITY: There is one living and true God, eternally existing in three persons.  The Father, Son and Holy Spirit are equal in every divine perfection and execute distinct but harmonious roles in Their works of creation, providence and redemption.

JESUS CHRIST: Jesus Christ is God’s only begotten Son, conceived by the Holy Spirit.  He was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, performed miracles and left us his life-changing teachings.  His death on the Cross was an atoning sacrifice for all who believe in him.  His bodily resurrection, ascension into heaven, and continual intercession for His people, assure and empower his followers as they live a good life that glorifies God.

THE HOLY SPIRIT:  The Holy Spirit came forth from the Father and Son to convict the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment, as well as to regenerate, sanctify, and empower all who believe in Jesus Christ.  The Holy Spirit indwells  every believer, and seeks to fill them as their abiding helper, teacher and guide.

SALVATION:  Every person has tremendous potential for good, but all have been marred by Sin, a condition that inclines us to disbelieve and disobey God.  If left unchanged every person controlled by their Sin will spend eternity separated from God.  When we turn from our self-ruled life and turn to Jesus Christ as our Savior and Lord we are saved from Sin’s power and penalty.  This Salvation is God’s free gift and includes the promise of eternal life.  Eternal life cannot be lost and begins the moment one receives Jesus Christ into their life.

THE CHURCH: The church is the body of Christ composed of believers who meet for worship, mutual support and service.  God has laid upon the members of the local church the task of bringing the gospel of Jesus Christ to a lost world.  Jesus has given his church two abiding ordinances: The Lord’s Supper and Believer’s Baptism by immersion.

CHRISTIAN CONDUCT: Every Christian is called to live for the glory of God and the well-being of others.  They also are meant to faithfully steward God’s possessions and grow into the full stature of personal maturity in Christ.

THE LAST THINGS: Jesus Christ will make a personal and visible return to earth.  There will be a resurrection of the dead, the final judgment, the eternal joy of the righteous and an endless separation from God for the wicked.
