We are looking for dedicated members of the American University student community to help us fight hunger in DC while limiting food waste on our very own campus. We are starting a chapter of the Food Recovery Network at AU, and we need passionate people who are willing to put aside at least 5 hours per week to work on starting and maintaining our chapter. Once implemented, we hope to recover food from events and dining locations and bring them to local nonprofits. Please note that this will be a time-intensive position, especially in the implementation phase, requiring approximately 5-10 hours of work per week. Once the Food Recovery Network is implemented on campus, we will have a huge impact on our campus and our surrounding community - and we want you to be part of that change! Please reach out if you have any questions -

American University's chapter of Food Recovery Network will operate under the AU Student Zero Waste Club. Club Co-Presidents Grace Pugh and Caroline Johnson are spearheading the movement to start this chapter and will act as Co-Presidents for the chapter as well.
Please indicate which positions you are interested in and then write a paragraph for each one as to why you believe you would be the right choice for the position. We are especially looking for underclassmen so that turnover can happen more smoothly!
Ideally, we would like to start recoveries during Welcome Week, so this position would begin in mid-July (online conference calls until we all arrive back on campus). Please keep this in mind when applying!
