This inquiry by NSSGA is to support the AggReGaTe proposal
for the NSF IUCRC (Industry–University Cooperative Research Centers) program.
The IUCRC is a five-year program that provides seed funding and
assistantship for university research centers with industry and government
memberships. Membership fees will be used to support pre-competitive research
projects conducted by university faculty and students. The NSF
provides a governance framework and funding for center
operations and management. Each site within the center
can receive up to $750,000 from NSF during the five years.
The program also allows only 10% overhead charges from participating
universities. The AggReGaTe proposal includes two sites at Virginia Polytechnic
Institute and the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign. These sites can
use external resources from other universities too. The NSF application is a
multi-step process. Those government and industry entities that respond "Yes"
to this inquiry will be listed as potentially interested members in phase one
of the application. Should the NSF select the proposal for the next
round, the potential members will be invited to a workshop to learn more about
the center and potentially become a member.
Please note that your response to this inquiry will create no
membership commitment for your agency or company. This inquiry is solely for
gauging the level of interest from the government and industry to support the
proposal.
