Dear Parent(s) or Guardian and CampersThe Alberta Fire Fighters’ Burn Camp Committee is very pleased to provide you and your child
information on The Alberta Fire Fighters’ Burn Camp for children.
The Alberta Fire Fighters’ Burn Camp hosts a week-long camp every summer for young burn
survivors between the ages of 7-17. This time at camp is a special time when young burn
survivors can just be kids again.
Our camp is typically held in August of each year and hosted at Easter Seals Camp Horizon, in
the beautiful Kananaskis Mountain Range overlooking the Elbow River. For more information or a
virtual tour of this camp please visit their
website.
Our campers come from all areas of Western Canada to experience a week of learning new skills
in a safe yet challenging environment and leave with a sense of achievement and appreciation of
their own abilities. Campers, counselors and volunteers participate in group activities such as
swimming, camping, hiking, challenge ropes, archery and arts & crafts. They also learn about
Alberta's rich environmental resources and history. However; camp is not all about fun and
games. Camp helps to create a valuable network of friends and mentors that aid campers in
recovery as a burn survivor. The friendships created here last a lifetime.
Parents note, your contact is being returned to the Alberta Fire Fighters’ Burn Camp Committee
and your information will be added or updated in our database. This database is used exclusively
