Project SAFE Internship 

The Health Education Internship is open to Youth Health Advocates (YHA) annually. YHAs co-facilitate the evidence-based sexual health workshops, participate in program planning, provide outreach at community events, and attend community meetings. 

The next cycle will begin: January 5, 2026 

Internship responsibilities: 

  • Co-facilitate 8-session sexual health curriculum (Making Proud Choices) in Brooklyn High Schools and youth organizations 

  • Table at community events  

  • Participate in community coalitions 

  • Participate in weekly staff meetings 

  • Create social media based final project 

Schedule :  

  • 2 hours group/training per week 

  • 4 hours facilitating workshops/outreach 

  • 2  hours group co-facilitation or events

Pay: $ 18 per/hour (up to $144 per week)  

Qualifications:

  • Age 18-24 

  • High School Diploma or High School Equivalency Exam 

  • Experience in a sexual health education preferred but not required
