South Salem High School recognizes the right of parents and students to request graduation at a time other than the end of four years of enrollment.  Some students need to have an alternative to the full four-year attendance expectation.  South Salem High School strongly advocates full time attendance rather than aspiring to meet only minimum standards of educational achievement in high school.  In the majority of cases, full school attendance may have more satisfying long-range implications in the areas of opportunities for career decision making, normal maturation processes and in becoming a more productive citizen.

This request will be granted based on one or more of the following approved criteria:
1. Student will attend college or vocational training
2. Student is seeking full time employment
3. Student or family involved in extenuating circumstances
4. Student is a 5th year senior and will complete credits prior to S2
