A Bike Story For Cory

Hello, we are two teenagers named Drew and Mac and we are planning to do something extraordinary this Summer. We are planning to bike across the entire continental United States, at the ages of 17, in order to raise money and awareness for Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. However, before we do this we have to raise money to go towards our ride, and so, we will be riding approximately 300 miles with MOBI (Missoulians on their bicycles) in order to raise this money. Now, what is Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy? Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy is a genetic disorder almost 100% found in males that affects the production of a protein known as dystrophin. Early in life the body will produce extra muscle to compensate for this, but as a child gets older their body's muscular function will begin to breakdown because of a lack of dystrophin. What this causes is an eventual breakdown of cardiac muscle that causes a premature death at an age of around 25 years old. We plan to ride for a boy named Cory who is affected by Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. We are riding for someone who can't. We are riding to raise money that will go towards a cure. We hope you take the time to make this come possible and pledge to donate some money towards a "Bike Story For Cory". You can make this donation onto our paypal account on our blog. Thank You for taking your time to do this, it means a lot!
