Immigrant/Refugee Artists´ Survey of Gaps, Obstacles, and Strategies
This survey created by the Multicultural Artists´ Coalition aims to inform a report that will be presented to the City of Ottawa Arts, Heritage, and Culture Office on May 16th. The report will contain a list of obstacles and gaps that inhibit immigrant/refugee artists to achieve their goals. Additionally, it will hold a set of strategies and solution proposed by the community to overcome systemic barriers.

What have been the main obstacles you have encounter for achieving your goals as a professional cultural worker? (e.i. lack of networking, lack of information, lack of job offers, underemployment, cultural barriers, language barriers, institutional racism, heterosexual normativity, patriarchy, & colonialism, lack of specific skills like grant writing and budget production, etc.)
How could be improved our situation from a institutional level (City of Ottawa, Umbrella Organizations, Arts Councils, Artist-run Centers, Universities, etc.)
