The Education Council Consortium, New Pride Agenda, PFLAG NYC, and Trans formative Schools invite you to sign-on in strong support of the current New York City Department of Education (DOE) trans inclusion policy Guidelines to Support Transgender and Gender Expansive Students.

We reject the divisive attacks of the Trump administration targeting New York City students and the use of federal funding as a weapon to enforce hatred and bigotry. Our schools must be places of inclusion, not exclusion – where every student, regardless of who they are or where they come from, is respected, supported, and free to learn. Using financial resources meant for our children and their education as leverage to discriminate against trans people is unacceptable – and illegal in both New York State and New York City.

At a time when trans youth are under attack across the country, it is crucial that NYC continues to lead in upholding inclusive policies that protect the safety, mental health, and well-being of trans students.

All students deserve the dignity, respect and resources that they need to feel safe enough to learn.
