The Nebraska Recycling Council (NRC) is holding a collection event for electronics, document shredding, batteries, EPS Foam, clothing and household items. The event begins at 9am to noon in conjunction with Lincoln Earth Day. The event is a fundraiser for the Nebraska Recycling Council.
Volunteers are needed to help set up the event, unload vehicles (participants will be asked to stay in their cars), direct traffic, and clean up once the event is over. We need 20-30 volunteers on site. Volunteers must be at least 16 years old. Snacks will be provided.
Job Description:
• Event set-up: Set up traffic cones, trash and recycling cans; place signs by entrance and exit.
• During the event: Unload items from vehicles to be recycled. Place in proper containers or on truck as directed by recycling company.
• Traffic control: Assist event participants with orderly entrance and exit of collection site.
• Post event clean-up: Collect trash and recycling; pick up cones, vests, and sign frames; clean up collection area.
• Must be capable of lifting heavy objects and be familiar with proper lifting techniques
• Be prepared to stand for long hours
