Ricki Brown Award - Abilene Public Library
This Friends of the Abilene Public Library award is conferred annually upon an Abilene or Wylie librarian in recognition of leadership and accomplishment in library science. This award recognizes employees who make the libraries, the campus, or the community a better place. The Ricki Brown Award is designed to honor librarians who share their talents, creativity, and special skills in ways that connect library departments to one another, the campus, or the community.

SELF NOMINATIONS AND NOMINATIONS BY COLLEAGUES ARE INVITED (however, please do not just copy and paste what another colleague has already submitted). Nominations will be accepted through October 20, 2023. (Please be prepared to complete application, as it does not auto-save.)

Award Criteria: the successful candidate must:
  • Hold an MLS degree or be a certified school/media specialist
  • At the time of the selection, the candidate must be employed in any field of librarianship in Abilene/Wylie ISD, TX
