World Refugee Day 2020 - Southern Solidarity Statements
Women Watch Afrika, an anchor with the Southern Movement Assembly calls on all Southern organizations to connect the global refugee crisis and refugee experience to all our frontlines. Glory Kilanko, Executive Director of Women Watch Afrika, reminds us that "We are all refugees."

Please share a brief statement of solidarity to connect the frontlines that you work on to the refugee reality in the U.S. For example, Colette Pichon Battle with Gulf Coast Center for Law & Policy connects their work to prevent the displacement of indigenous and Black communities due to rising sea levels in the context of climate refugees. Consider ways that you and your community are displaced by violence, economic distress, and persecution. Consider ways that you and your community are prevented from returning home or being with family.
