WHO WE ARE:
Region 5 Expanded Learning Partnerships is one of 11 Regions in the state of California that provides technical assistance to Expanded Learning programs to funded ASES and 21Century to provide before, after school, intersession and summer programming.
 
Our Vision- Staff and Students to EXCEL!
We support and build Staff and Students to be Empowered, commit to eXcellence, Collaborators, Engaged and Lifelong learners (EXCEL).

We do so through various forms of technical assistance, coaching, mentoring, consultation, brokering of resources and training throughout the year. On an annual basis and for the past 21 years we coordinate and provide a full one day large conference that attracts more than 600 participants to attend.

We are excited to see your interest in participating as a presenter and providing tools and strategies to our staff to better support our students.

ReV Up CONFERENCE GOAL:
Our ReV Up Conference goal is to build staff's essential knowledge and skill sets that will lead to the implementation of high quality expanded learning programs. Each workshop will offer concrete teaching/learning strategies and tools that staff can readily implement.
The committee particularly seeks workshops that offer practical strategies on how to engage students in learning opportunities that reinforce the 6C's of Common Core (Collaboration, Communication, Critical Thinking, Character, Citizenship and Creativity) and connect to the CA Quality Standards for Expanded Learning:

Active (hands-on/project based)
Meaningful (has relevance)
Collaborative (promotes student collaboration)
Supports Mastery (builds mastery of a skill over time)
Expands Horizons (offers opportunities to experience something new)

*  We will offer "Beginning," Intermediate" and "Advanced" tracks again this year to meet the varied needs and experience of ReV Up participants. *  One stipend/honorarium will be issued to the main presenter for each workshop provided ($80 per workshop). If there is a co-presenter, then it is up to the main presenter to provide a portion of the honorarium if she/he desires.

If applicable- NOTE: Conference fee will be waived for primary presenter only. Co-presenters are welcome but will need to pay the regular participant conference fee of $45.00 to attend.
Workshop Information
Please submit a separate proposal per workshop (i.e. workshop title, title description, audience).

Only one RFP is needed if your workshop is repetitive (same workshop offered more than once), or if you need a longer block of time (one workshop conducted over two AM or two PM sessions).
Workshop Time Preference
There will be two AM and two PM workshops offered to conference participants. Workshops #1-3 will be 75 minutes. NOTE: Workshop #4 will be a limited selected number of workshops and will be only 60 minutes. If possible, we would like to offer repeat 75 minute sessions. You may request back-to-back workshops if you need a full 2.5 hrs (AM only) or 2.25 hrs (PM only) to conduct one workshop. (Please note that specific workshop times may vary slightly.)

Presenters must provide their own equipment (laptops, LCD's, etc) for workshops and bring all necessary copies and any materials/equipment needed for workshop(s). Must be able to also load/unload, carry, set-up/tear down on their own. All presenters must be checked in minimum an hour before their workshop.
