Focus Groups: Exploring Statewide Policy Opportunities for High School Computer Science

There is a national movement to encourage states to create computer science graduation requirements. The Massachusetts legislature is now considering additional policy levers, including a computer science graduation requirement, to broaden participation by students in computer science coursework. (Chapter 268, 7009-6601) Massachusetts DESE has commissioned SageFox Consulting Group and CSforMA to create a recommendation report. Read the report and view an 18-min video overview here.

We are holding focus groups (approx. 8-10 people) to collectively imagine the opportunities and constraints policy changes could pose for the state, including what support structures would be necessary to ensure equitable implementation. If you are interested in this important conversation, please register soon as spaces are limitedWe want to gather input from a diverse group of community members* so we strongly encourage you to participate if you identify with any of the groups at the bottom of the form
