Where the Sheep Sleep 2019: Welfare Enough Volunteering
Thank you for your interest in volunteering with Welfare Enough at Where the Sheep Sleep!

All volunteers will need to have a ticket to attend the event (still available to purchase, but be quick- not many tickets are left!): https://burningman.nl
Welfare Enough is a bridge between Rangers, First Aid/Medics, Security, and Law Enforcement. We offer a safe, comfortable, sober space for when things get a bit too much to cope with on your own; or when your tent has blown away, flooded out or sunk in the mud; or when you need a sanitary towel/condom at 3am; or just to take a breather and sit down with a cup of tea.

Our objective is that visitors leave having had a better integrated burn experience than they'd have had without our support. If they learn something about themselves or others, grow as a human, or evolve to new level of awesome, we get gold stars!

Welfare shifts are 3 hours long and you will be asked to volunteer for 2 to 3 shifts (1 morning/day and 1 evening/night) over the course of the event. All volunteers should expect to work one day and one night, unless for medical/accessibility reasons this is not possible. Volunteers must commit to showing up for shifts sober, fed, and watered. Self-care and preparedness are fundamental responsibilities for those acting as anchors for guests and the backbone of the event. If we get more volunteers, we can offer shorter shifts!. Tell your friends!

Welfare Enough works hard to balance our shift schedule so that there is always an experienced volunteer on shift, and to ensure that we have people who identify as male/masc and female/femme to assist service users with potentially sensitive or gender-related issues. Please take a moment to tell us a little bit about yourself so we can get this right!

Any questions or issues, please email welfareenough@gmail.com

Hugs from the Welfare Enough Team
